At Jazz Design in his role as Lead Web Designer, Gray was presented with a variety of projects and briefs to complete. The main responsibilities of the role were:
- Website design and construction
- Using Macromedia website applications and a variety of other packages for web and graphic designers.
- Providing Flash animations and menus for websites.
- Creating sites for Jazz companies and clients including Sharp UK.
- Running of the company eCommerce sites, selling magazines and merchandise.
- Technical support
- Providing support to the users of the company network.
- Ensuring that the companies computers (both Mac and PC) were maintained and kept running.
Gray worked at Jazz Design from January 2001 to November 2001 and worked on a wide variety of projects. After leaving the company, Gray continued to edit the websites he had built for a further year until Jazz moved their sites to a managed service.

The company sites were designed and constructed with minumum direction from the managers of the various divisions. The sites needed to look professional and business like.
